Biography
Ivan Chepkin was born in 2008 in Chita. Since 2015, he has been a student of the Gnessin Moscow School of Music (under Anna Arzamanova). He is a scholarship holder from Yuri Rozum’s New Names Foundation and has been engaged in programmes offered by the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and the Russian Piano School project.
His achievements include winning international competitions such as the Rachmaninoff International Youth Piano Competition (2018), Moscow Heinrich Neuhaus Festival of Young Pianists (2018, 2023), Riga International Competition for Young Pianists (2018), Classic Pure Vienna in Austria (2018), Transylvania Fair Chance (2021), Premio E. Tschaikowsky in Switzerland (2021), Nouvelles Etoiles in Paris (2021), Tiziano Rossetti International Music Competition in Lugano, Switzerland (2022), Scriabin Silk Road Competition (2022), Geneva Junior Music Competition (2023), and Gnessin Competition (2024), among others. He has held prizes of the 18th Youth Delphic Games of Russia in Rostov-on-Don (2019), Nutcracker International Television Contest for Young Musicians (2020, Bronze Nutcracker), Manhattan International Music Competition (2020, Silver Medal), Vladimir Krainev Competition in Moscow (2021 and 2023), King's Peak International Music Competition in New York (2023), and many others.
Ivan has participated in festivals such as Moscow Meets Friends, Light of Hope, January Evenings, Youth Academy of Arts Russian-Polish festival, Lielais Dzintars festival (Latvia), and SobrioFestival (Switzerland), among others.
