Biography
11-year-old Charlie Wu is one of Australia’s brightest young piano talents. He studies piano with renowned pedagogue Glenn Riddle. He is currently a student at Caulfield Grammar School, Melbourne, and is a keen competitive tennis player, swimmer, and chess player. He was chosen to represent Australia in the 5th International Mozart Piano Competition in Zhuhai, China in 2023. Other recent successes include winning the National PolMusicA Polish Music Competition as well as being a finalist in the Musical Society of Victoria’s Hephzibah Menuhin Award for pianists 25 and under. He has also won prizes in Australia local competitions and recently made his recital debut at St Paul’s Cathedral in their Lunchtime Concert Series. He also studies violin and participates in many chamber music groups.
