The acceptance of applications for participation in the 4th International Competition of Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition, which will be held from June 13 to 18 in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and in the Concert Hall of the Central Music School — Academy of Performing Arts, has been completed.
This year the competition received 77 applications from 11 countries. Video recordings for the qualifying round were sent by 40 candidates from Russia, 16 from China, 7 from Kazakhstan. Three applications each were submitted from Australia and Belarus, two each from India and Vietnam, one each from Hong Kong, Switzerland, Spain and Italy.
The participants of the two main rounds will be determined by the beginning of May. The decision is made by members of the international jury, headed by pianist Denis Matsuev, artistic director of the competition.
