Tonight, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory was hosting the Grand Opening of the Competition. Piano concertos by Poulenc and Rachmaninov were performed by Alexander Malofeev and Sandro Nebieridze, Grand Prix winners of the 1st Grand Piano Competition; Denis Matsuev, Artistic Director of the Competition; and the State Orchestra "Evgeny Svetlanov" under the baton of Alexander Sladkovsky. The opening ceremony was streamed online at the websites of the Competition and Moscow Philharmonic Society; at Medici.tv, Moscow Philharmonic public at Vk.com social media (official partner of the Competition), Tvkultura.ru, Culture.ru website and social media. On 30 April and 1 May, we invite the audience to the Rachmaninoff Hall of the Conservatory for the 1st round of auditions.
